The Asian American Pacific Islander Design Alliance (AAPIDA) makes its High Point Market debut with a discussion that spotlights the organization’s five pillars: advocacy, awareness, collaboration, dialogue and mentorship. In a conversation moderated by Business of Home editor in chief Kaitlin Petersen, the panelists—textile designer Swati Bansal of Soil to Studio, Dowel Furniture co-founder Ray Hallare, and designers Noz Nozawa and Lia Shin—share their paths into the design world, how representation has impacted their career trajectories, and how to enact industry change.
