What’s the inspiration behind the new collections?
The new collections are inspired by a creative fusion of Japanese minimalism and Scandinavian aesthetics. They combine technical innovation with artisanal craftsmanship to create pieces that morph and transform. By blending clean lines with natural materials, they achieve an appealing warmth and coziness.

Lin Plâtré centers textural, earthy shades, with Nordic whites and metallic accents that appear to have been applied in thick trowel strokes. The tactility of the surface captures the attraction of opposites: finely worked simplicity partnered with raw comfort. As with Éphémère, its sister collection in fabric, this line is an artistic exploration that indulges the understated refinement around the color white and texture. Designed together, the two collections complement each other, creating a harmonious ambiance.

What piece are you most excited to unveil?
We are thrilled to unveil our new fabric collection, Éphémère, this season. It is a unique tribute to the artistry of Isamu Noguchi’s Akari sculptures and designer Junichi Arai’s innovative textiles. The common thread running through the collection is paper, which we have blended with linen to create intriguing open-weave fabrics. Paper and linen intertwine in creative voiles that play with light. Shades of diaphanous white and luminous ivory epitomize the elegance of simplicity, evoking a subtle timeless quality. Ethereal matte voiles wrap the wearer in softness, providing a sense of protection. The transparency and irregular shadows cast by the fabrics diffuse pure dawn light.

These pieces provide comfort through raw yet refined materials. The result of the handiwork of expert craftspeople, including some in Japan, the collection brings us closer to the artisan within. We are excited to share these unique textiles this season.

What about the collections feels fresh and exciting?
The combination of traditional elements with contemporary interpretations. They take Japanese influences and infuse them with a touch of modernity, resulting in unique and visually stunning designs. The use of varied materials, textures and techniques adds depth and interest, making it a refreshing departure from the conventional.

Tell us about the materials in these collections. Are there certain materials used throughout, and/or a material that is a highlight on a particular piece?
These collections artfully combine luxurious textures and minimalist designs to create a soothing, enveloping feel. Linen and cotton fabrics in creamy whites and ivories foster a sense of comfort and tranquility. Subtle metallic accents add depth and intrigue. The Lin Plâtré collection features glimmers of white on soft, textured grounds, while the Éphémère fabrics have a diaphanous, luminous quality. Plaster and hints of metal throughout provide textural contrast. Overall, the materials and palette work together to embrace the beauty of simplicity.
